Busch Entertainment Corporation (BEC), parent company of SeaWorld, Aquatica, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove, announced this morning its plans to develop four Worlds of Discovery parks in Dubai. The development, in partnership with Dubai developer Nakheel PJSC, will feature all four parks at the tip of The Palm Jebel Ali in Dubai on a man-made Shamu-shaped island!
This project marks the first international expansion for BEC. In addition to the parks, Worlds of Discovery Dubai will feature numerous family resorts, shopping centers and dining experiences. Planning for this exciting new getaway has begun with phase-one projected to open in 2012.

In a thrilling “battle on the beach”, Ryan Newman charged ahead of the pack to capture the trophy in the 50th annual running of the NASCAR Daytona 500 – one of Florida’s top racing events. Congratulations, Ryan!
The excitement returns with a bang on Independence Day Weekend, when the Daytona International Speedway hosts the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coke Zero 400 on Saturday night, July 5th.

The Space Shuttle Atlantis is now in Orbit! Just yesterday at the Kennedy Space Center the Space Shuttle Atlantis blasted off on a mission to deliver the European Space Agency’s Columbus Laboratory.
The next launch date is scheduled in 32 Days for March 11, 2008 for the mission STS-123 Endeavour from the Kennedy Space Center. Tickets for viewing this launch at the Armchair Astronaut Club go on sale February 11, 2008.

Disney’s Wide World of Sports is home to the Atlanta Braves Spring Training! For 11 years now, the Atlanta Braves have been using this facility for the spring training and you can take part. You’ll have a chance to see 16 home games where the Braves play against the Cardinals, Tigers, Indians and Mets. It is truly a very special event….and not just for the kids! At the Kennedy Space Center in Central Florida you can schedule an Astronaut Encounter that includes a 1/2 hour session of Q&A as well as schedule a lunch with a featured astronaut.
In January & February you will have an opportunity to meet with Story Musgrave, Al Worden, John
Fabian, John Blaha, Jon McBride and Roger Crouch. If you would like to schedule a Lunch with an Astronaut, you must call in advance and schedule your time as seating is limited.

If you can’t make it to New Orleans to experience the Mardi Gras festivities you can still take part at Universal Studios Orlando! Every Saturday night from February 2nd until April 19th Universal Studios hosts Mardi Gras in the streets with live music, a rock parade and lets not forget the beads!
The parade features 13 colorful and lively floats that move through the “French Quarter Courtyard” making you feel like you’re right in New Orleans. You’ll find entertainment for the whole family hundreds of costume characters, Cajun cuisine and live performances.

On special nights at the Magic Kingdom the “Pirate and Princess Party” will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m and tickets are officially on sale now! Dress in your favorite Pirate or Princess costume when you complete your Swashbuckling Training or the Captain Jack Pirate Tutorial!
