Disney’s new Pirate & Princess Party at the Magic Kingdom!

pirateandprincessparty_alle.jpgOn February 1, 5, 8, 12, 15, 23, 26; and March 2, 5, 8, from 7:30 pm to 12:30 am you can embark on a quest for beads and chocolate treasures immersed in a world of pirates and princesses during the all-new “Pirate & Princess Party” at the Magic Kingdom. The party begins at 7:30 p.m., but you could enter the Magic Kingdom earlier (approximately 4pm) using your Pirate and Princess Party ticket. You’re greeted at the entrance to the park by banners and the red carpet treatment.

Upon your arrival, you’re given a guide map and a black velvet pouch, so that you can gather your treasure at “X Marks the Spot” locations around the park.  In addition to the treasure spots, there is plenty of live entertainment, such as Captain Jack’s Pirate Tutorial in Adventureland, and special showings of Dream along with Mickey on the Castle Forecourt Stage. There are also a number of character meet and greet locations. The most popular meet and greet by far is Captain Jack Sparrow!

What is a Hidden Mickey?

ak561.jpgNext time you visit Disney World look up at the light fixtures, check out the sewers or stare at the wall mural and you may find a “hidden Mickey”.   An estimated 600 have been recorded and you can find them in Steve Barrett’s book Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World’s Best-Kept Secrets.   You’ll also find Hidden Minnies, Donald Ducks, Goofys, Plutos, Baloos, Winnie the Poohs and more!

November Tip from ALLEARSNET.com

epcot_candellight1.jpgA holiday special you won’t want to miss in Epcot is the famous Candlelight Processional. Now in its 36th year, the Candlelight Processional is a moving presentation of the Christmas story in readings by a celebrity narrator, accompanied with music by a Mass choir and 50-piece orchestra. The 40-minute show is performed three times nightly (5, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m.) America Gardens Theatre in World Showcase. The theater is an outdoor (exposed, not climate-controlled) setting, and the show is not cancelled due to inclement weather. Remember to dress accordingly. The first performances of the Candlelight Processional are on November 24 and will feature former NBA player David Robinson (subject to change without warning). The Candlelight Processional continues until December 30. The show is included in your admission to Epcot. There is, however, a lunch/dinner package available for purchase that includes a ticket to Preferred Seating for the Candlelight Processional.

TIP: If it’s important to you to get a seat, you’ll need to line up at least an hour in advance — this show is extremely popular and gets very crowded! If you don’t get a seat, though, it’s still possible to see the show. It may not be the optimal way to enjoy the program, but you can stand at the back of the theater to listen to the readings and the music.

Happy Holidays to you and yours from AllEarsNet.com!

Using Disney’s FASTPASS! It’s FREE!

Use Disney’s FASTPASS! Many Walt Disney World attractions offer this timed ticketing system, which is free with your admission to the park. Here’s how it works: As you approach a FASTPASS attraction you will see several signs. The first tells you how long you would have to wait if you got into the normal line at that moment — what’s known as the Standby Line. Another sign tells you the “FASTPASS RETURN” time — that is, what time you will be able to return to ride or see the attraction if you get a FASTPASS ticket instead of standing in line.

fast_pass1.jpgIf you choose to get a FASTPASS remember: EACH PERSON NEEDS ONE! To obtain a FASTPASS, go to the FASTPASS machine and insert your park admission ticket in the indicated slot. Your FASTPASS, indicating what time frame, or “window,” you may return to the attraction, will print out.
REMEMBER TO TAKE BOTH YOUR FASTPASS AND YOUR ADMISSION TICKET!

Once your FASTPASS time has arrived, return to the attraction and get in the FASTPASS RETURN line. Be sure to have your FASTPASS out and ready to show the Cast Member, who will check your return time with the official return time clock. Further along in the queue or waiting area, a Cast Member will actually collect your FASTPASS ticket. By then you will be far ahead of those waiting in the Standby Line, ready to get on with the show!

If you’re going to Walt Disney World sometime before the end of 2007, you’re in for a real treat!

234x60aen1.jpgDisney’s Year of a Million Dreams officially began Sunday, October 1, and runs for the next 15 months. As part of that celebration, Disney cast members known as “The Dream Squad” are dispensing “dream” prizes at random that range from special Year of a Million Dreams Mickey Ears to a magical overnight stay in an apartment in Cinderella Castle.

million_dreams.jpgAlso as part of the Year of a Million Dreams, cast members are creating an unprecedented number of “Magical Moments.” These include guests being tapped to help with the pixie-dusted opening of Magic Kingdom or being named an Official Wildlife Spotter at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Remember, the Year of a Million Dreams continues now through 2007. If you’re in Walt Disney World during that time we hope that the Dream Squad bestows a magical dream come true on you!
