EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival Starts Next Week

EPCOT International Flower & Garden FestivalFlower Power is back…at Disney World EPCOT!  Celebrating its 15th anniversary, this year’s annual EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival starts next Wednesday, March 19th and runs through June 1st.  Formerly a 60-day event, this year the festival has been expanded to 75 days, with its first March opening ever! 

Throughout the park, you’ll see up to 70 topiaries, including your favorite Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and even Stitch – plus many more!  The festival also features:

  • Donald Duck’s “Gran Fiesta Tour starring the Three Caballeros” show in the Mexico pavilion – NEW!
  • Peter Pan’s Neverland Garden – NEW!
  • Pluto’s Play Zone
  • Popular gardening celebrities and authors
  • Gardening tips and secrets by Disney horticulturists
  • Several themed weekends such as: I Dig Bugs, Art in the Garden, Mother’s Day and more

Shuttle Endeavour Set to Blast Off at NASA Kennedy Space Center Tuesday

Shuttle Launch at Kennedy Space CenterNeed to fill some vacation “space”?  After the parks, head on over to the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral to catch the Shuttle Endeavour launch.  Scheduled for this Tuesday, March 11th at 2:28 AM ET, the early morning lift-off is sure to provide a spectacular once-in-a-lifetime view.  The 16-day mission for the crew of seven astronauts is to transport a robot and the first section of a Japanese research lab to the International Space Station. 

Can’t stay up that late?  There’s still Mission: Space at Disney’s EPCOT.  You can also try your hand at landing the space shuttle on one of WonderWorks’ landing simulators

New Fall Events at Disney World’s EPCOT

It’s hard to believe, but Walt Disney World’s EPCOT park celebrated its 25th anniversary this month! As part of the celebration, EPCOT is showcasing a special gallery called “Epcot: Creating the New WorldEPCOT's 25th Anniversay Celebration of Tomorrow” at the Innoventions West area in Future World. The American Heritage Gallery in the American Adventure has received a facelift with a new ending and a “National Treasures” exhibit with fascinating pieces from America’s most important historical events. Also returning to EPCOT this November 23 through the end of  2007 is the annual “Holidays Around the World” celebration, where you’ll find the World Showcase area decked out for the holidays.

Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival Starting in September

Experience the 12th Annual Epcot Food & Wine Festival on your next Disney vacation from September 28th to November 11th. This year there will be special programs including demonstrations from renowned Chefs and Winemakers.
