At New Year’s Eve at Universal CityWalk®, one of Orlando’s biggest and hottest parties, the New Year doesn’t just ring-in, it rocks-in! For this year, REO Speedwagon plays hits like “Ridin’ The Storm Out,” “Can’t Fight This Feeling” and “Can’t Stop Rockin’” to slam the door shut on 2012 and floor-it to 2013! Also, dance, swing and stroll through CityWalk®’s nine restaurants and seven nightclubs for a night jam-packed with entertainment.
In addition to REO Speedwagon live in concert, enjoy live music throughout the venue’s seven nightclubs including karaoke at Rising Star, dueling pianos at Pat O’Brien’s, live DJs and bands. Taste your way around your favorite restaurants serving-up all-you-care-to-eat with dishes like jambalaya, beef and veggie patties, vegetarian paella and cheeseburgers. Toast to the party with champaign and full bar areas. (Special note: designated drivers who are attending the event can pick up a wristband at any of the New Year’s Eve venues to receive free non-alcoholic soft drink beverages.) After the New Year countdown, the party continues welcoming 2013.
Tickets to New Year’s Eve at Universal CityWalk®, December 31, 8 p.m.-2 a.m., cost $144.99 per person (ages 21 and up only) and include all-you-care-to-eat cuisine, a midnight champagne toast, admission to CityWalk® and its seven clubs and performances by REO Speedwagon. Travel with your family back to the 1950s, when drive-ins were all the rage, on a mini golf adventure at Universal Orlando® Resort’s new Hollywood Drive-in Golf attraction, located at Universal CityWalk®. Choose from two classic movie-themed courses: “The Haunting of Ghostly Greens,” inspired by an old drive-in theater monster movie, or “Invaders From Planet Putt,” which follows the style of a classic sci-fi film.
Open for 18 hours every day from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m., the attraction offers you plenty of opportunities to take your best swing at a hole-in-one. You can decide to play either one or both courses, each with 18 unique holes. These are no ordinary putt-putt courses; watch out for some out-of-this-world and spooky surprises, including:
- Hair-raising lighting effects with an eerie glow (best after dark!)
- Squirting water and spraying air to keep you on your toes
- Patience-testing multilevel challenges
- Colorful scenery and entertaining obstacles
Admission is $13.99 for adults and $11.99 for children ages 3-9 to enter one of the courses. Feel free to play one course and come back later with your receipt for a discount on the remaining course. The official website for Hollywood Drive-in Golf is still under construction, but check back soon for updates. Right now, you can view a series of photos on the home page of Universal CityWalk®.
